Dijelaskan Dansatgas Pamtas, selain mendapat sambutan dari pejabat setempat, kedatangan Presiden Jokowi saat ini, juga mendapat sambutan dari warga yang berada di wilayah perbatasan, khususnya di Distrik Sota, Kabupaten Merauke.

“Warga sangat antusias menyambut kedatangan pak Jokowi beserta ibu Iriana Widodo,” kata Letkol Andi.
Usai menyambangi beberapa pos pengamanan milik Satgas Yonif 521/DY, Presiden Jokowi juga menyempatkan diri untuk menyampaikan beberapa pesan yang harus dijalankan oleh prajurit pengaman perbatasan tersebut.
